f from the EDITOR Oh how do I remember this time last year when I was worried about turning 40! I had so many mixed emotions running through my mind I just couldn’t imagine what the year would hold. Well, to my surprise it has been the absolute best year of my life. This year has been filled with hope…really! My oldest son Johnny Jr. moved to the East Coast to get a fresh start and is now preparing to marry his dream bride. My son Jaylen will be starting driver’s education and celebrating his sweet 16. Yes, there is one more: My little man Jordan will enter the second grade! With all four of my children moving into these new stages, I’m learning to surrender some of my parental responsibilities so that they can grow in maturity and begin learning from their decisions. You can say I have experienced my Thelma and Louise moment to just live, laugh and love life to the fullest. I also left my day job to devote all my time and energy to my dream job—being the publisher of this magazine. This was a leap of faith, but I have no regrets, seeing as He is ordering my steps. With this change also came a new team of people who shared their talents to walk with me and create, perfect and distribute Hope for Women . In each of these changes, life is just simply the best. Some of the changes came by choice, and others, by the simple passage of time. What they all have in common is that they have helped me to grow.
