BAREFOOT BOOKS is an award-winning, independent, women-owned and run, children’s book publisher based in Concord, MA. Founded by two mothers in England in 1992, they are committed to creating visually captivating books that celebrate global awareness and diversity, spark curiosity, and capture imaginations.

TARA CANNADAY has had a love for various food styles her entire life. She attended Cambridge School of Culinary Arts, specializing in classic French pastry, before working in some of the Boston area’s best restaurants. She is currently the executive chef of Pot + Pan, creating food-first THC edibles while combining her cannabis and culinary passions through thoughtful products and approachable education on consuming cannabis.

JACQUELINE DOLE is a freelance food and travel writer covering everything from Maine to The Magic Kingdom. A former pastry chef, she’s always on the lookout for the next best snack. As a lifelong New Englander, she’s an expert on all things Maine. Embroidered hotel robes, a great pool, and hot dogs are some of her favorite things. Her bylines appear in Travel + Leisure, Food & Wine, TimeOut, INSIDER, Thrillist, Eater, Attractions Magazine, and more.

CHRISTOPHER ELLIS-JACOBS is the owner and publisher of edible MAINE, where his deep passion for local food and his years of experience in the restaurant industry fuel the magazine’s mission. As a dedicated locavore and advocate for Maine’s food producers, he leads the publication with a strong sense of purpose and community, showcasing the richness of Maine’s culinary landscape. Based in Greenwood, Christopher and his family nurture their home garden, savoring the fruits of their labor during long winters.

KELSEY KOBIK is a talented Maine-based photographer whose work captures the authenticity and beauty of life in the Pine Tree State. With a keen eye for storytelling, Kelsey often focuses on themes that highlight Maine’s unique landscapes, its food culture, and the spirit of its communities. Her photography is featured in multiple issues of edible MAINE, illustrating stories that connect readers to the people, places, and ingredients that define Maine. Kelsey brings a natural warmth and depth to her images, making her a sought-after visual storyteller in New England.

MADELEINE LEE is a dedicated advocate for sustainable food systems and storytelling. Influenced by her Korean heritage and a food-loving family, Madeleine developed her passion for cooking and sustainability from a young age. A recent Bates College graduate in Environmental Studies, she brings hands-on experience with Maine’s food ecosystem, from urban gardens to coastal kelp farms. Through her food-focused Instagram (@foodiesontherhode) and work with nonprofits, Madeleine promotes plant-based, planet-friendly dining. She’s excited to help share Maine’s unique food stories with the edible MAINE community.

KIRSTEN LIE-NIELSEN is the Assistant Editor at edible MAINE and a freelance writer focused on climate change, sustainability, and modern agriculture. She and her husband live in rural Maine on a farm that they have spent the last decade restoring. When not farming, Kirsten enjoys traveling and sharing her experiences with food and innovators in sustainability. She has written for Civil Eats, The Boston Globe, and Modern Farmer, and is the author of two books on homesteading. More of her work can be found at hostilevalleyliving.com.

BRIT MARTIN is a Lewiston-based videographer and photographer who specializes in retail and performance videography. Finding her love of video through filming dance performances, Brit has since found a new love of product photography and short-form media.

CAROLINE PARAS is a Portland-based writer and professor who brings a unique blend of academic expertise and real-world experience to her work in Maine’s tourism and food industries. With a bachelor’s degree from UC-San Diego in Political Science and Communication, and a master’s in American and New England Studies from the University of Southern Maine, Caroline has had a distinguished career in economic and community planning. Most recently, she has focused on expanding Maine’s local food market through innovative agritourism and aquatourism initiatives. Caroline’s work seeks to elevate Maine’s farms and fisheries, engaging visitors through transformative experiences that foster loyalty to local products.

BETH SCHILLER tends the land of Dandelion Spring Farm, a certified organic production vegetable and herb farm in Bowdoinham. Her favorite parts of the farm are the edges where the forest meets the fields. She is energized by trying to keep up with the immediate needs of the land, but also by finding branches to connect others to an awareness of rural Maine, building community, and connecting healthy food to healthy bodies. A past president of MOFGA, when not farming she is now most likely found on long cross-country ski adventures.

BARTON SEAVER is a husband, father, chef, and author living in South Freeport. He’s dedicated his career to sustaining seafood and people through dinner. Barton brings his wealth of knowledge to edible MAINE’s recurring seafood feature, For Cod and Column.

TUCKER TROAST is a born-and-raised Mainer living in South Freeport. He enjoys spending his time outside, surrounded by friends, and laughing as much as possible.
